On day 83 of my journey, I encountered a delightful surprise in the form of Trail Angels, who offered a much-needed respite from the trail. The day began with a leisurely pace, allowing me to savor a breakfast of a jumbo frosted honey bun and a caffeine electrolyte drink mix. The terrain, though flatish, was a constant nuisance due to the rocks. However, the highlight of the day was the warm hospitality of John and Natalie, the Trail Angels, who picked us up off the trail, drove us to their house, and made us feel like family. They showered us with kindness, providing us with laundry services, dinner, loaner clothes, and even a partial resupply. Their generosity knew no bounds, and their hospitality was truly amazing. The day's events were a stark contrast to the previous days' challenges, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected kindness I had received.
